MEET ANGELA STEVENS

“I am Angela Stevens, an Emmy award-winning stylist and healthy hair enthusiast. Throughout my career, I have focused on creating easy solutions for women on the go. I have a passion for textured hair and I am dedicated to protecting it. Highlights in my career have been creating my own salon and safe space for women to embrace transitions and change. I am also the creator and owner of conscious curls, a line of extensions and wigs that are easy to use and blend seamlessly into the hair and lifestyles of women with kinky, coily, curly, and wavy hair. For the past 16 years, I have been focused on professional experiences in creating simple solutions that address the complexity of textured hair. I have now partnered with Cantu to create the Protective Styles by Angela line. We have created this line to promote hair health and provide solutions for people who wear wigs, braids, locs, extension and other protective styles”.

MEET MELISSA KOBY

The creative artist behind our accessories patterns & eye-catching packaging!

“My Illustrations are a direct way of how i feel. I plan to literally illustrate the black experience whenever and wherever i can!”

Melissa Koby is a Jamaican born artist and illustrator living in Tampa Florida. She is a self-taught artist who started painting at the age of 4, when her mother gifted her a set of paint brushes and an easel. Melissa made the transition to full time Artist in 2020 when she gained attention for her inclusive and expressive illustrations. Through surface design, Melissa focuses on creating warm yet vibrant patterns which highlights the intricacies of texture and colour. “I want everyone to be able to enjoy the warmth and vibrancy of my work. I want each piece to be worn with celebration and pride.” Melissa creates her patterns using digital as well as analogue techniques (line drawing and acrylic painting). Her visual art has always been Melissa’s true passion and default way of self-healing. “My illustrations are a direct reflection of how I feel and a way for me to connect with people.”
